Thanks to FOGS we have been able to purchase lots of Numicon resources which have helped the children develop their understanding of number. Here the children were learning to find 1 more by ordering the large Numicon tiles, print with them in the sand and recreate the number patterns with ice cubes.
Robins had an exciting adventure last week when they caught the bus into Winchcombe to buy stamps so they could post Thank You cards they had written for their Big Friends. They also visited the library and the park for a picnic and a play.
The children told the rest of the school and their parents about their trip and sung a medley of travelling songs accompanied by Miss Badham on the guitar in their class assembly.
At Forest School the children worked in teams to hunt for letters hidden amongst the trees and logs and had to get them in the right order to spell a word...
Robins and their Big Friends got together for a big baking session...mountains of chocolate cookies were created. Mary Berry would have been very proud...no soggy bottoms in sight!!
Robins have been learning about ways of travelling as part of our new topic 'Off We Go'. As well as reading stories about travelling many of the children have made models of vehicles and we all had a go at making paper aeroplanes which we launched in the playground.
