Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 to provide extra support for certain children. It is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years. Pupil Premium funding for Gretton for the financial year 2016-17 was £11,720.
We used the money allocated to us in the following ways, to provide:
- A dedicated Learning Mentor to support the social and emotional needs of our pupils.
- Financial assistance for vulnerable children to access school trips and activities, providing these children with opportunities for new experiences.
For the financial year 2017-2018 our Pupil Premium Funding is being used to maintain the provision of our Learning Mentor to support emotional, health and wellbeing needs and will continue to provide financial assistance for additional activities as and when necessary. We are using it to target support in learning & progress in Maths, Reading and Mental Maths - eg through the provision of Numicon equipment and guided reading books. We have small targeted groups for Phonics, Spelling and Mental Maths with one on one support where possible. We also provide a Homework Club to support learning outside of school hours.
