Eagles
Mr. Stinchcombe and Mrs. Fowler
Eagles class is a place in which we explore, learn, collaborate and experience. We work hard, but we balance that with lots of fun. Eagles are working towards their transition to KS3, and as such, take on lots of extra responsibilities:
- Big Friends to the Robins
- School Council Chair and Vice Chair
- House Captains
- PE monitors
The children benefit from a curriculum full of enrichment: we are looking forward to our trip to see Katherine Rundell at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in October and our residential trip later in the school year.
To supplement the learning in school and prepare for secondary school, children are encouraged to complete their own reading record. Ideally, they will read either with an adult or independently, at home, for at least 20 mins, at least 3 nights a week. Reading is fundamental to every child's development in all aspects of communication and literacy. Children also have access to Times Table Rockstars to enhance their arithmetic skills.
Attached at the bottom of the page is the statutory spelling list for Y5/6. These spellings along with all other spelling lists can be found on the English subject page of the website, to help support home learning.
